Big Weekend Workout - Boston
Big Weekend Workout - Boston
Every training plan shares at least one thing in common - a focused workout each week. We orient our lives around it - what we eat, when we go to bed, how we dress. We notice the nerves kick in ahead of time; not quite like race day, but everyone’s familiar with pre-workout jitters. This Fall, we explore four iconic workouts, documenting athletes from Ann Arbor to London with a stop at a Pennsylvania golf course in between.
This week in Boston we'll be running the iconic Michigan workout at MIT, alternating intervals between the track and the tempo loop. The workout runs as follows:
1600m at 10k pace (track)
2k tempo (tempo loop)
1200m at 10k pace (track)
2k tempo (tempo loop)
800m at 5k pace (track)
2k tempo (tempo loop)
400m all out (track)
(2-3min jog in between each interval)
Location
Doors will open at the Boston Trackhouse at 8:30 AM, and we'll set off at 9 AM to run over to MIT. Bag drop is available. We ask that runners are comfortable running upwards of 8 miles if they plan on attending this workout.
Fuelling
Before the run, we will have coffee, bananas and water available. Post-run, refreshments will be available. We are asking all runners joining us for the first time to fill out the club waiver at the Tracksmith events page.
